Wow, summer has flown by. School ended and summer activities began. And… here it is at the end of July and summer is nearly over (Also, I just noticed I have not posted a blog in two months). It has been a very relaxed and laid back time (not that we have not been busy). Summer, for the most part, is easier. Let me explain.
No school means no homework. No homework means I don’t have to pretend I know what I am talking about regarding math and physics, which makes thinking easier.
Here in Columbia, the college students are mostly gone, which makes getting around easier.
My two children don’t have school, which makes mornings…easier (though in our house, mornings could never, ever, ever (maybe not enough “ever’s”) be described as easy).
Relaxing by the pool and maybe sipping a beer (OK, I have never SIPPED a beer in my life. I have charged after them with gusto since I can remember) makes evenings easier.
Competitive soccer season has ended, which makes weekends easier.
So following the “easier” theme, we have made things even easier for the customer at Enterprise Development. We have always been very proud of making our loan process relatively smooth and easy for both the borrowers and the banks. We did notice, however, that some processes were either not clearly communicated or were breaking down. Clients had to fill forms out multiple times or provide the same information in different formats repeatedly. So following the “easier” theme, we redesigned the application we use to ensure that nearly all of the information needed is included in a very usable format. We then take that info and populate all of the required forms and templates the SBA needs. Once everything is populated, we deliver the forms to the customer to be signed and “voila” (Ms. Vandelicht’s high school French class finally came in handy…awesome teacher by the way), the information from the customer’s perspective is nearly complete. Is it easy? No. Is it easier? You bet, just like summer.
